Part of the joy of owning an older home is knowing it was built to last, but even the best homes need updating, especially things like roofs, plumbing and electrical. After many years of saving and planning our renovation, COVID hit, and all hopes of having any work done took a backseat to safety.
Christian and I kept busy ordering tile and flooring samples and looking at kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways on Pinterest and Houzz. When the worst of the pandemic was over building materials and contractors were in high demand and short supply. Unfortunately, Christian passed away before he got to see our plans realized.
This year, I finally completed the renovations we planned for the main bathroom, kitchen, and entryway with some input from my sons, James, and Ian. When I look around, I think Christian would approve. It’s understated and simple, but it suits our family. I have before and after photos to share, and I hope you enjoy my renovation in pictures.
