April 2022 in This Awful Awesome Life
We hope you enjoyed the March 2022 issue of This Awful Awesome Life. Many thanks to our talented writing team for their hard work.
This month we are celebrating rain. “April showers, bring May flowers” and after this winter, I’m enjoying seeing crocus, daffodils, and tulips.
Rain is a recurring theme in art, literature, music, and films. Often the trials we face are compared storms. This month we explore these themes and how they affect our lives.
We also have some fun rain-related facts for you and we’re streaming rain related movies.
In this issue we have several rain-related videos for you to enjoy, and we’ve selected 30 well-known quotes about rain for our quiz, “It’s Raining Quotes.”
I reviewed The Goodbye Storm by Danielle Stewart. It’s a touching story about learning to live with grief and loss. In keeping with our rain theme, I have new reading recommendations for kids and adults.
Lilly Kauffman’s parents had drastically different attitudes about storms. In “Finding my Ark,” she explains how it inspired her to handle rainy days with her husband and children.
Orlando Bartro is asking questions in a new way to make us think about our answers.
Linda Cahill has more delicious recipes from Pampered Chef. Don’t miss her Bunny Butt Cookies!
Carrots are our vegetable of the month in “The Twelve Months of Vegetables.” Carrots are one of my favorite versatile vegetables, so I made a side dish of Gingered Carrot and Kale Ribbons and a delicious carrot cake. You’ll love the recipes.
We have a new series, “Dare to Believe.” Each month we will feature one man and one woman who overcame obstacles to accomplish great things. Don’t miss “April in Pictures,” our “Author Page,” and “Next Month in This Awful Awesome Life.
Samantha Sayers has been missing since she disappeared on August 1, 2018, after a day of solo hiking at Vesper Peak near Seattle, Washington. Sam grew up in the Erie, Pennsylvania area where her parents Ron and Lisa still live. Her family is exploring all avenues of inquiry to find and bring her home. In the face of such an enormous challenge, they have chosen hope. Please keep sending positive thoughts to Sam and her family. As promised, we will be displaying a yellow ribbon for Sam on the opening page of each issue of This Awful Awesome Life until she is home.
If you are a person of faith, please pray for her safe return to her family. Because we are an online publication, we can update this article with any news. We will also post information on our Facebook page. Thank you!
