March is a great month for reading. Kids can choose from books about spring, great women in history, and of course, St. Patrick’s Day.
In keeping with our storytelling theme, we also have recommendations for books from great children’s story writers, such as Tomie de Paolo, Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, A.A. Milne, Roald Dahl, and Lewis Carroll.

Girl Running: Bobbi Gibb and the Boston Marathon by Annette Bay Pimentel – Bobbi Gibb wasn’t allowed to run on her school’s track team because she was a girl, but after school she put on boys’ running shoes and ran whenever she could. In 1966, she wasn’t allowed to run in the Boston Marathon because she was a woman. Gibb put on her men’s running shoes and a hoodie and disguised herself as a man to prove women were good enough athletes to compete in the Boston Marathon. Lewis Carroll – take a trip down the rabbit hole with Alice or read one of his wonderful poems. For children of all ages
