Unfinished Christmas: A Poem by Lilly Kauffman
The card with a name and a stamp on the envelope…but no complete address
The gift bought, but not wrapped nor given before the season passes.
The note sent to ask how they are; only to make the rounds and land back with me…a decorated unanswered question.
The call that was not returned; the voicemail left wishing us a Happy Holiday…
‘Happy New Year’… before it gets too old.
The proverbial “Come see us” …while we are still alive.
