Your August 2020 Poem from Rachel Ann Bovier
Frances Joyce
"Deuces Are Wild"
By Rachel Ann Bovier
And there would always be a "Full House"
On the holidays and parties and such
And little Billie was just about nine
And never really said too much
He had always been a "Straight" shooter
But he was starting to show a new sign
But he was afraid to tell his two siblings
For they were almost like "3 Of A Kind"
Yes, only one year apart
And little Billie was the "Ace in The Hole"
For he was the baby of the family
And to him, that was pretty darn cool
But as the years went "Shuffling" by
Billie got tired of keeping it hush
For he knew that something was different
But when asked about it he'd get real "Flush"
Well it was time to "Reshuffle the Deck"
And "Discard" the young "King" for a "Queen"
Though unfortunately the rest of the "Players"
Had all "Folded" in spite of the scene
So, the "Chips" were cashed in and all counted
And Billie walked away with "A Pair"
And they were obviously both the "Same Suit"
And so, Billie had found her new mare.
