What could be more thrilling than the coming of spring? How about nine thrillers from some of your favorite authors? Many of our choices are from successful series with characters you’ve come to admire like Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch or Pittsburgh’s own Trevor Galloway from author JJ Hensley. Put a little excitement in your library with one of these great reads.

Divided House by J M Dalgliesh. This is the first novel in the series about DI Nathaniel Caslin, a Yorkshire detective whose life and career are in free fall. While investigating the death of an ex-serviceman who was in police custody, Caslin uncovers the disappearance of a young family. Will this case send him over the edge or save his career?

Blue Moon: A Jack Reacher Novel by Lee Child. Fans of Jack Reacher will enjoy this latest installment in which Reacher comes to the aid of an elderly couple.

The Night Fire (A Renée Ballard and Harry Bosch Novel Book 22) by Michael Connelly. Harry Bosch and LAPD Detective Renée Ballard team up again to solve a cold case that bested Harry’s mentor the recently deceased JJ Thompson. As Bosch and Ballard investigate, they begin to question if Thompson was trying to solve the case or keep it buried?

Friends like These by Sarah Alderson. When Lizzie sees her former colleague Becca on social media with the perfect life and the perfect career, her jealousy gets the best of her and she makes a snarky retort. Unfortunately, her comment goes directly to Becca with unforgiving consequences. As lives and lies begin to unravel, Lizzie learns that image and reality are seldom the same.

My Sister’s Lies by S.D. Robertson. Hannah’s perfect life is interrupted by the arrival of her sister Diane. After ten years of no contact, Diane arrives with her teenage daughter Mia and asks Hannah to care for Mia for a few days. Diane disappears and days become weeks. Unknown to Hannah, Diane is carrying a devastating family secret that could derail her perfect life.

Five Bloody Hearts by Joy Ellis. This is the sequel to Ellis’ bestselling novel, Beware the Past, featuring Detective Matt Ballard. Can Ballard trust a convicted serial killer who claims to have knowledge of the murderous plans of his protégé? Add to that, three murder victims with Tree of Life tattoos indicating a possible gang war and Ballard is stretched to the breaking point.

Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington. After Karen Finch’s 17 year old daughter Sophie is escorted home by the police after an apparent night of partying and heavy drinking, Karen has a lot of questions, but the next morning the police arrive with questions of their own. Sophie’s claims not to remember getting drunk or what happened to her friend Amy who didn’t come home. When the body of a young woman is found, will it be Amy? Could Sophie be next or is Sophie an accomplice?

Hold My Hand by M.J. Ford. Thirty years ago, a young Josie Masters saw a boy in a red football jersey being dragged away from a carnival by a clown, but no one would listen to her. Now an adult, Masters is a police officer in Bath. When the remains of a child in a tattered red football jersey are discovered, Masters wonders if this is the same child. When another child disappears, will this be her chance to catch the killer?

Record Scratch (Trevor Galloway Book 2) by J.J. Hensley. Trevor Galloway is back and this time he’s being hired by the sister of a murdered musician to find the killer and a vinyl record she claims could ruin her brother’s reputation.  Before Galloway can turn her down, she commits suicide leaving him entangled in a dangerous game where he can’t always distinguish his personal demons from the real bad guys.
