Every Step Counts by Corey Flynn
Colder weather and less daylight can get you down and make it harder to get in a workout. Remember, every step counts. It only takes around 2,000 steps to get a mile, and most people can walk a mile in about 15 minutes.
Here are a few tips to meet your step goals:
1. Set exercise reminders on your calendar, create a phone alert, or send yourself an email reminding yourself that it’s time to get up from your desk and move.
2. Make a simple goal to walk at least a mile a day. It can be a quick morning break or a part of your lunch time routine.
3. Hold walking meetings – research shows that walking increases creativity and memory.
4. And there’s always the usual: Park further away from the store and take the stairs instead of the elevator.
How many days in a row can you walk a mile or more? Why not find out?
